Critique Questions
- Which project was your most successful? Describe the theme and or topic and the process you went through to complete the project. Were the choices you made regarding material, size, technique, etc beneficial to enhancing this project. Please explain.
My pen and ink project is one of my most successful and favorite pieces. The topic for this piece is undisturbed. The house is in the middle of nowhere with nothing but the sidewalk that leads nothing and the wind in the background. The long and tiring process of stippling for hours and free handing all of the straight line details in the building made this project very unique. Adding more lines and dots to make the lighter and darker values throughout the piece. Finding the main 2 view points was difficult because the original photo was a 3 point perspective piece but i made it into a 2 point perspective piece. Looking back i wish i didn't do so much stippling because it made the project take so much longer. I'm also glad that i did it at the same time though because it adds more of a abstract feel to the piece.
2. Look at your body of work over the semester and choose 2 pieces that show your growth as an artist. Discuss each piece and how you grew in the following areas: application of materials, techniques and skills, artistic vision, use of the principles and elements, creativity, intuition and subject matter.
The first thing that i did with painting was the apple on the left, and the painting on the right is my latest piece. i have come a long way with painting, considering that i'm best at sketching and random styles of art. Even though one is watercolor and one is Acrylic paint and the styles are very different you can still see the progress. Learning different brush strokes and techniques to help blend all of the colors together. In the beginning my brush strokes were messy and i had no idea what i was doing i just winged it. Even though my mushrooms don't look realistic that was the point for the project. The techniques that i learned from my picasso painting are simple but will show off as an overall.

4. Choose 2 mini lessons that you felt were the most beneficial in your learning for that particular project. Include photos of these and explain thoroughly. Do you feel you needed more instruction for success? Explain or did you feel that the instruction given was enough to ensure success? Explain. (if you do not have a photo for this just answer the question without one)
The two projects that i think i learned most in was the color wheel and all of the different perspective pieces. With the color wheel i learned how to mix colors and creating different shades. with all of the perspective pieces I learned a lot. How to get different angles of a building to look right. how to draw words out at different angles and sizes. I learned out to create depth and shading. i definitely feel like I need more instruction to succeed because theirs always something new to learn in the world of art.
