- Choose a project that you felt was challenging but yet successful. The project should incorporate innovative solutions to the artistic problem given to you. By this I mean how creative, original, mature, innovative were your ideas to develop into the successful piece that answers all the requirements for the project and beyond. We have had many projects that have explored this creative way of brainstorming, sketching, planning compositions and ending with final product. When you have chosen the project you feel best fits this question take pictures of all your brainstorming ideas, sketches (development stages), reference photos from your sketchbook that led up to final decision and product. Post them with this response. Discuss how you generated innovative/original/creative ideas for the project and how you developed them to complete your final piece. Explain why you chose this piece. How did you think outside the box and challenge yourself as well as the restraints of the project.
1.Reflect on what your portfolio (all work you created through semester) may or may not reveal about the semester. Do you think the work in your portfolio is an accurate reflection of your development in the class?
I think the work I have done throughout the semester has surprised me and possibly others. At first I thought that I couldn’t paint at all but their were some points durring this semester when I suprized myself. This is my best work yet for copying someone else’s style I thought I wouldn’t be able too.
2.Discuss one project where you felt you were the least successful. Explain why you felt this way. What would you do differently to change this piece? Explain
This is The piece that I felt was less successful for many reasons. Even though other people say it looks good I still see all the flaws because I imagined something completely different for the outcome.
For me personally I would have rather not put leaves on the big tree in front. I felt that it didn’t go well with the textures of the bark. My grass was a difficult thing to do after making the texture I gave it , I wanted it to look some what realistic but I obviously didnt.
3.Choose 2 mini lessons that you felt were the most beneficial in your learning for that particular project. Include photos of these and explain thoroughly. Do you feel you needed more instruction for success? Explain or did you feel that the instruction given was enough to ensure success? Explain. DON'T FORGET TO ADD PHOTOS
this is the second mini project
This was my first oil painting ever and did it with only a pallet knife. This mini lesson taught me how to use oil paints without over blending and keeping the colors vibrant.
this mini project was to help me learn how to paint fur and I would say it helped a lot .
4.What medium was your favorite to work with? Explain why and how you were able to master the techniques associated with this medium. DON'T FORGET TO ADD PHOTOS
My favorite medium to work with was acrylic because it dries quickly and you can get really precise with it. but i also love the way oil paint looks when you done, the rugged look but its not as easy to work with. But the style of watercolor is also this very beautiful, fluid, and light style. I'm better at drawing and sketching and acrylic is the closest to getting that neat looking affect with the paint.
